What makes fortify cfo different?
We are not people whose only career experience is working in CPA firms. We are experienced & successful business people, entrepreneurs, and owners who currently are and have been CEO’s, CFO’s, Controllers, Accountants, and Consultants who have started and run successful companies ranging from Fortune 500 to startups. We understand what it’s like to make payroll, bootstrap, and manage cash flow – in other words, we’ve been in the trenches and have a strong understanding of what you are going through.
We focus on providing value and while making no guarantees, have a tremendous track record of providing value that exceeds our cost, in both tangible and intangible ways. Every situation is structured to your unique situation and needs. Services can change over time and due to events, but commonly includes a combination of onsite and remote work each month or as often as you request. Before Covid-19, most of our work was already done remotely, working virtually while being an integral part of your team is not a problem.
Why should I work with a CFO?
A Chief Financial Officer oversees the financial affairs of a company, including maximizing cash flow, reducing risk, ensuring scalable growth, as well as analyzing financial strengths and weaknesses, proposing corrective actions, tax planning and compliance, and much more.
We bring many things to the table that benefit you as an owner or CEO, including peace of mind, access to experienced CFO help that is affordable without having to hire a full-time employee, a confidant and partner that will help you with all facets of the business.
Is my company big enough to need a cfo?
Every company regardless of how many zeros they have in their revenue number needs CFO thinking. No business is too small for a CFO, even those who are a dream in a visionary’s mind. We can tailor our services to fit your budget and help you get structure in place to avoid mistakes, save money and position yourself for growth.
What industries do you specialize in?
We serve practically all industries in our capacity as turnaround, entrepreneur, and startup experts. We also have specific expertise and specialization in construction and technology.
Do you do project or interim CFO work?
Yes. These are unique situations that may require full-time attention for a period of time. Please contact us so we can further discuss the details.
Do you offer CPA and tax services?
For many companies, it is often more efficient and convenient for the owners to consolidate all business, individual, and family financial and tax services under one combined umbrella. The more we understand your family, personal and business situations and goals and how they intertwine, the better we can create holistic strategies that incorporate the above as well as coordinate retirement planning, insurance, investing, medical insurance, and much more. These services are offered through our sister company, Fern Hill CPA. Your Fortify CFO coordinates and integrates all of your services.
Will you work with my CPA?
Absolutely. They will love working with us. We’ve been on both sides of the table with CPA firms and clients, and we know how to make their job, whether audits, reviews, or other services more efficient while reducing your cost.
Do you work with external partners?
You bet. We regularly work with attorneys, lenders, and other service providers to help our clients gather, evaluate and integrate their thoughts, insights, and services into planning, finances, and operations as a team.
What do you charge?
You pay only for the work that you authorize and we do. We agree on the scope upfront in terms of services and how often you need them. Typically there is an agreed-upon number of hours for a monthly retainer and any excess hours for that month would be billed at the beginning of the next month, but every situation is flexible.
Can you help with unique situations or transactions?
Yes. We frequently help with the following situations:
- Buy/Sell Negotiations and Transactions
- Due Diligence
- Purchase Accounting
- Tax Strategies
- Lending (Term and Lines of Credit)
- Contract and Lease Review
- Intellectual Property
- HR and Benefits Selection
- And more
